The Imitation Game, Shazam!, Sherlock Holmes, John Carter — those are just some of the movies from which you may recognize British actor, Mark Strong. In his student years, he wanted to become a lawyer, but just a year later he took up studying the actor’s craft.
Today, Mark Strong will try on a different role — on invitation from the president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, he has joined the ambassador team at UNITED24. Mark Strong is focusing on the Education and Science direction, raising funds to equip a bomb shelter at one of the schools in Cherkasy oblast.
Strong’s decision to join UNITED24 as an ambassador was preceded by his participation in the charity match, Game4Ukraine, which happened on August 5th 2023 at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London. There, the goal of the match was to restore Mykhailo-Kotsiubynsky School in Chernihiv oblast, which was destroyed due to the russian invasion.
Later, on Independence Day in August 2023, Mark Strong and the other ambassadors congratulated Ukrainians with Volodymyr Sosiura’s poem, Love Ukraine.
