The British adventurer Bear Grylls is famous all around the world for his extreme escapades: he has conquered Everest, had dinner at an altitude over 7 km, crossed the Northern Atlantic on an inflatable boat and even descended into the crater of an active volcano in Guatemala.
Grylls condemned russian aggression when the full-scale invasion first began, and in November 2022 he came to Ukraine in person. At the time, the country was plunged into darkness due to russia bombing critical infrastructure, so Bear personally experienced the suffering of Ukrainians. He documented his trip in the TV special War Zone: Bear Grylls meets President Zelenskyy.
Grylls joined the UNITED24 ambassador team on the 29th of March 2023, focusing on the Rebuild Ukraine direction of support. Together with American actor Liev Schreiber, boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk, Oscar-winning director Michel Hazanavicius and many others, Grylls raises funds towards restoring apartment complexes, so that Ukrainians can come home as soon as possible.
