UNITED24 has five separate directions of support: Defence, Humanitarian demining, Medical Aid, Rebuild Ukraine, Education and science. There are also three separate accounts for each direction at the National Bank of Ukraine. All these accounts are separated from each other; the funds can be used only as intended. These rules are under strict regulation of the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, which you can find here. While donating towards Medical Aid or Rebuild Ukraine, you can rest assured your donations won’t be transferred to any other account. You can also choose to make a goal-oriented contribution to be sure what exactly would be purchased under a specific fundraiser.

Transparency and effectiveness are two fundamental indicators of UNITED24’s performance. That’s why reports on the funds raised and spent (if there are expenditures to report) are updated weekly. Deloitte Ukraine, part of Deloitte’s global accounting network, one of the Big Four Accounting Firms, assured the compliance with the requirements of the Procedure in respect of using the funds coming to the official accounts for donations in support of Ukraine “United24” (hereinafter, 'the Procedure') for the period from platform initiation till 31 December 2022. Assurance engagements as to the compliance with the Procedure regarding subsequent periods are conducted on semi-annual basis. The report for the 1st half of 2023 is expected in September 2023.

100% of funds are transferred to the official accounts of the National Bank of Ukraine, then assigned to the relevant ministries: the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Healthcare, and the Ministry of Infrastructure. The ministries are each responsible for fund distribution, procurement, and choosing the suppliers. However, in the case of the Ministry of Defenсe, the distribution of funds, procurement and supplier selection can be all carried out by various services of the Security and Defence Forces: the Security Service of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Police of Ukraine, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the National Guard of Ukraine, the State Special Communications Service of Ukraine, and so on.

For example, Oleksandr Usyk’s fundraiser for the reconstruction of an apartment building in Irpin is active via Donorbox, Balenciaga are using their own website, Uber fundraises via their app, and so on.
